The Formula
With over a decade of experience in the swim arena, Coach Jarrod has more than apt expertise in this field. He has truly evolved from student to teacher.
Champions Swimming follows the American Red Cross stages of swim lessons, as that is what Coach Jarrod has taught all his years in the metroplex. It is proven to be effective for all ages, and has worked wonders for his clients in the past. The extensive program is briefly detailed below.
Parent and Child
Aimed at parents with infants who just want to introduce their kid to the water
Lots of toys used to get the child used to and more comfortable with the water
Instructors teaches the kid as well as the parent so that at-home learning can be done such as in the bathtub where the child is more comfortable
Ages: 6 months - 3 years
Initiatives Include:
Blowing bubbles
Arm and Leg movement
Getting face wet
Comfortable being held on back and stomach in the water
Preschool Aquatics
Aimed at new or returning swimmers who may still be getting used to the water but are attempting to start movement within the pool
Begin using equipment such as kick boards, goggles, and diving sticks
Instructor helps the kid begin to understand body movements both above and under the water
Contains Level 1 and Level 2
Level 1 is introductory to arm and leg movement, floats, and glides
Level 2 is refining these skills, with slightly less instructor intervention
*Everything in preschool aquatics is done with instructor assistance
Ages: 3 years - 5 years
Initiatives Include:
Enter and exit the water on their own
Front and back float
Front and back glide
Bobbing up and down in the water for oxygen as well as for forward progress
Fully submerge underwater
Learn to Swim Levels 1-3
Aimed at introducing the child to actual strokes in the water
Freestyle and backstroke
Proficient floats and glides without assistance
Begin treading water
In order to pass each level, skill must be done without assistance
Level 1 is continuing from preschool classes, and focuses on beginning to do freestyle and backstroke by yourself for about 2 body lenghts
Level 2 is the next step up, and stroke work is expected to be satisfactory for 5-10 yards
Level 3 is the final level in this section, and stroke work must be 15 yards minimum without assistance, along with treading water
Ages: 6 years - Adult
Initiatives Include:
Freestyle with rotary breathing and face down in the water
Backstroke with head back and steady kick
Tread water or float for 10-30 seconds
Fully submerge underwater to retrieve object
Learn to Swim Levels 4 & 5
Aimed at detailed stroke correction
Proficient freestyle and backstroke are expected coming into level 4
4 new strokes are introduced between the 2 levels
Level 4 begins working on open/closed turns, breastroke and elementary backstroke, and streamline off the wall
Level 5 expects proficient open/closed turns, continues work on the 2 strokes from above, in addition sidestroke and butterfly are taught
Ages: 8 years - Adult
Initiatives Include:
Proficient freestyle and backstroke
Advanced breastroke
Beginner butterfly, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke
Treading water for 1-2 minutes
Endurance for each stroke
Private Skill Lessons
Apart from the regular weekly sessions of swim lessons, private skill lessons are also offered
These are primarily for higher level swimmers who need technique assistance
These lessons are the same cost as the other lessons
The only difference with these lessons is that they aren't taught in a progression, but rather the certain skill desired is focused on and the class moves in whatever direction the parent desires

Think so you don't sink
Reach or throw, don't go
Don't just pack it, wear your life jacket
Too much sun is no fun
In Your House and In Your Yard, Watch for Water, Be on Guard
Be sure to ask us about life guarding your birthday parties over summer! We have several Red Cross certified lifeguards on staff that bring their own guard pack as well as a rescue tube.
CCC Swimming, Jarrod Carmody, and the instructors are not liable in any shape, fashion, or form for injuries (including but not limited to minor cuts and scrapes, injuries as a result of falls, drowning, concussions, death) or any other injury (physical or emotional) of any sort that may occur during, directly before, directly after, or as a result of the lesson. The parental guardian is solely responsible for the ultimate safety of their child regardless of any circumstance. Should the parental guardian choose to stay indoors or out of sight of the lesson, the instructor, CCC Swim, and Jarrod Carmody are not liable for anything that may occur while the parent is not directly present within a reasonable visual field.
